Brayden’s Elk Hunt – 2023
We had the pleasure of sponsoring a free elk hunt in Meeker, CO, with Brayden Lance from GA on one of our Land Hunter properties. Brayden is 14 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia two years ago. Brayden loves the outdoors and has already taken a couple of whitetail deer in GA and MO, but this was his first hunting trip out west.
During his hunt, we saw several bugling bulls in some amazing country painted in fall colors. On the third day (September 23, 2023), we found a nice 5×5 bull, and Brayden made a perfect 100-yard shot! He was all smiles and in awe at the size of his bull. His stepfather Tyler was also there to experience this special hunt with Brayden.

The Outdoor Dream Foundation – Brad and Doug connected us with Brayden and covered many of the hunt expenses, including a full shoulder mount of Brayden’s bull.
Shane Collette – Shane took time off work to help with Brayden’s hunt and put us on elk every morning and evening.
Tim Richardson – Tim owns the adjacent property and gave us permission to hunt on his ranch to expand Brayden’s opportunities.
Epic Outdoors – owners Adam Bronson and Jason Carter donated a subscription to their magazine and hunting consulting services as well as donating several hats, knives, headlamps, and fire starters.
Natalie McMaster – Natalie inspired us to create Leukemia Hunter after her six-year battle with Leukemia, and we will continue to sponsor these hunts in honor of her life and courageous example.
