Why Leukemia Hunter
In fall 2023, we’re taking a young person fighting cancer on an all-expense paid hunting trip for their choice of mule deer or elk in NW Colorado on a private ranch.
Why? Our good friend Natalie McMaster passed away from Leukemia in January of 2022. She was only 18 years old and was first diagnosed at age 12. We are close friends with her parents and saw them go through the cycle of remission, good health and hope, and then the return of the Leukemia followed by more intense treatments, remission…and then it kept coming back. They exhausted every treatment option available and made immense sacrifices as a family. When the doctors broke the news there’s nothing else that can be done, they spent Natalie’s last few months hitting as many of her Bucket List trips as possible. She passed away before finishing them but she passed peacefully at home surrounded by her parents and older sister and a beautiful sunset.
As a father of five daughters, I could partially imagine the pain they went through. We hope our donations help with Leukemia research that extends and saves lives. We also look forward to therapeutic time in the mountains with these valiant young people and their parents going through the life-changing effects of Leukemia or other forms of cancer.
